The Three-Day Rhythm – Part 2
Please refer to Part 1 to follow me on the unpacking of the message:
“If you look at today, the next day and the day thereafter, ask yourself: What did I do?”
In Part 2, I will sit with the word “look”.
What does it mean to look, to really look? It is more than simply seeing. It is being mindful. Perhaps it means exactly that: to use all parts of your mind, a full or an entire mind.
To look is to be more than aware. It is to notice the connections, the synchronicities, the messages, the meanings, the context. To look is to see the possibility, to recognise another’s hurt, to glimpse what still needs attention within yourself, and to sense where you are called to grow.
Sometimes, though, we don’t want to look or take it in. It can hurt. Looking often asks us to face something we would rather hide, a truth, a flaw, a fear. But it’s always worth looking. Without looking and seeing, these things remain hidden, unnoticed by consciousness, and untouched by growth.
I cannot fully comprehend what each of us may need to see, but perhaps you can begin to sense with me that we are invited to look deeper.
It’s about taking it in, letting what we see become part of our understanding, part of our rhythm of awareness. Perhaps that is where the rhythm begins, in the quiet courage to look.
